Een Kindje Krijgen!! Tuesday, 5th February, 2008

Helen and I have just become parents!! Despite the fact that we were planning to go furniture shopping today, our beautiful baby daughter Freya Eve Garrett arrived at 9:32am this morning, Monday 4th of February – 4 days before her due date. She weighs in at 3.3kg, and is 48cm long. Helen “only” had about 5 hours of labour, and, regardless of the moaning and screaming which terrified me to the quick, everything went extremely well. Helen and Freya are both doing wonderfully. We are both ecstatic, and extremely tired.

CONGRATULATIONS both of you…. en ook van harte gefeliciteerd! What a beautiful name… Freya… the God of love and fertility! I looked it up what her name exactly means: In Norse mythology, Freya is a goddess of love and fertility, and the most beautiful and propitious of the goddesses. She is the patron goddess of crops and birth, the symbol of sensuality and was called upon in matters of love. She loves music, spring and flowers, and is particularly fond of the elves (fairies). Well done!!!

Congratulations Mike and Helen on the birth of your beautiful baby Freya! Danielle, Annika and I are all extremely excited. Annika looks forward to sharing some “play” dates with Freya in the years to come.
