A new experience last Wednesday – my first guided tour of Amsterdam (after working there for almost two years). Our tour guide was Rashid Novaire who turns out to be a ‘een talent voor de toekomst’ – ‘a talent for the future’ in Dutch literature.

On the verge of starting a new temporary nomadic lifestyle, I’m pondering what it is to be nomadic. Can I really be a nomad for only 4 months? Surely that’s not long enough to do a full circuit of all my food sources and sacred sites.
But, am I about to become a temporary nomad, or have I been a nomad for the last seven and a half years already? Maybe I have to admit that I’m living a nomadic lifestyle – eight years is just a single circuit in the the new nomadism.
